ALH

Description:

Alhacen (Basra 965 – Cairo 1040) was a mathematician, physicist and astronomer. He is considered the creator of the scientific method and father of optics. He studied the anatomy of the eye, reflection and refraction of light. He demonstrated that light comes from the sun, travels in a straight line and creates images when it reaches our eyes. In this way he discarded the theory of emission defended by great thinkers such as Plato, Ptolemy and Galen, in which the eyes shot particles, which illuminated everything in the environment and that is why vision was possible. He also invented the pinhole camera.
