Description:

Ernest Gerald Gibbins (Liverpool 1900 – Uganda 1942) British entomologist who studied tropical diseases and described 26 new species of insects. While doing research in Uganda, he was stabbed to death by members of the Lugbara tribe, who believed he would use their blood samples for witchcraft. A year later, his insect collection was presented at the British Natural History Museum.
