Harriet Boyd Hawes (October 11, 1871 – March 31, 1945) archaeologist, nurse and lifeguard. She was the first woman to direct an archaeological excavation in the Aegean Sea. Political activist advocated that Europe should be federated. She disliked leaders like Winston Churchill because she argued that no nation should rule over another. She wrote about the need to create the UN before it existed, specifying that such an organization should have the backing of both an international court and military personnel.
