In the book Hou Hanshu by the Chinese historian Fan Ye, where he describes the history of the Han Dynasty between 25 and 220 AD, there is the first historical record of a supernova, SN 185 observed on December 7, 185 located near Alpha Centauri between the constellations Circinus and Centaurus.
