“Tested on Faces” is Suitto’s creative process
Artisan opticians create
each frame for a face
and nose type.
The acetate prototypes are tested
on real people and are touched up
by hand to get the perfect fit.
The frames are manufactured from
sheets of cellulose acetate with special colours
that are thicker than normal, so that they can
sculpt out anatomically shaped nose bridges from one piece,
making them comfortable and stable for use.
To make it easier to handle
the glasses with two hands, all of the
arms are designed with the
anatomic shape of fingers.
Technology digitally creates ergonomic
shapes, but hands and
time are what give Suitto
frames their perfect finish.
