Description:

In 1572 the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe, observed a strange event in the constellation Cassiopeia, a new star had appeared that shone brighter than Jupiter and was visible for eighteen months. The discovery of the supernova SN 1572 or Nova Tycho described it in a book entitled De nova stella, in which the word nova appears for the first time in the astronomical vocabulary.
